Denver Arts & Venues ([DAV]()) is the City and County of Denver agency responsible foroperatingsome of the region’s most renowned facilities, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum,Theatre at Loretto Heights and McNichols Civic Center Building. We also oversee the Denver Public Art Program, funding opportunities like[P.S. You Are Here]()andthe[DENVER CREATES Fund](), implementation of Denver’s Cultural Plan and other entertainment and cultural events such as the Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in Arts & Culture.
Funds generated by the agency are put back into the community through grants for artists and arts organizations, free and low-cost cultural events, art in public spaces, venue operation and maintenance and arts education.
The City and County of Denver is looking for aSenior Program Managerof Cultural Affairs for Arts & Venues (DAV).The Senior Program Manager will report to the Director of Grants & Cultural Programs and will supervise three Program Managers. This individual will alsoberesponsible fortheoversight of multiple grantsand cultural program sand initiatives including but not limited to P.S. You Are Here and the DENVER CREATES Fund. The Senior Program Managerwillsupportthe Director in the implementation of programs related to Denver’supdated Cultural Plan,the agency’s EDI (equity,diversity and inclusion) work, and theexecutionof the strategic goals of the department.
The Senior Program Managerof Cultural Affairsisa strategic and creative individual with excellent management,supervisory,interpersonal,andorganizationalskills.
This position is centered in Arts & Venues’ mission to advance arts and culture in the City and County of Denver.
Specifically,the Senior Program Manager will:
- Work in coordination with the Director of Cultural Affairs
,support the development,oversight, and implementation of the strategic goals of the Cultural Affairs department, ensuring coordination acrossagencydepartmentsandthat resources areutilizedappropriately. - Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop three Cultural Affairs Program Managers
(FTE employees). This includes developing goals, documenting performance, providingguidanceand performance feedback,evaluating their work, recognizing proper and efficientperformanceand devising opportunities for training and development. - Manage activities related to the implementation and evaluation of programs
and initiatives, culturalactivationsand Cultural Plan events. - Provide guidance and excellent customer service tonumerousinternal and external stakeholders
