The Regional Safety Manager provides leadership and oversight for all safety initiatives within their assigned region to ensure Company employees, subcontractors, and operations maintain the highest standards of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This role supports construction operations, service work, fabrication facilities, and specialty projects by partnering closely with operations leadership, project teams, field supervision, and executive leadership to proactively identify risks, prevent injuries, and strengthen the safety culture.
The Regional Safety Manager serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on operational resource by managing safety personnel, developing safety initiatives, conducting high-level audits, supporting incident response, and ensuring consistency in safety expectations across all business units.
- Lead all regional safety efforts across construction, service, fabrication, transportation, and specialty operations.
- Implement company safety policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
- Support standardization of safety expectations across regional offices and departments.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Assist in developing annual safety goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Support implementation of company-wide initiatives such as serious injury and fatality prevention efforts.
- Conduct high-level safety audits on active construction projects, service operations, fabrication facilities, and fleet operations.
- Ensure field teams are properly implementing safety expectations including pre-task planning, hazard assessments, PPE compliance, and high-risk work controls.
- Support project teams during high-risk work activities and complex project planning.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide safety support during large-scale shutdowns, outages, and high-profile projects.
- Lead serious incident investigations and root cause analysis efforts.
- Support regional teams during injury response and reporting.
- Partner with claims management on return-to-work processes and injury mitigation strategies.
- Track incident trends and implement corrective action plans.
- Assist with OSHA inspections, regulatory inquiries, and documentation requests.
- Supervise field safety personnel and third-party safety staff.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new safety personnel.
- Ensure field safety personnel maintain consistent expectations and messaging.
- Support leadership training for project managers, foremen, and field leadership.
- Promote employee engagement through safety observations, near miss reporting, and proactive hazard recognition.
- Reinforce Stop Work Authority and employee accountability programs.
- Assist with development and rollout of safety campaigns and training materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, customer requirements, and company standards.
- Assist with contractor prequalification safety submissions.
- Support fleet safety initiatives and driver risk reduction efforts.
