SVP Operations

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight of a large, geographically diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets (solar, battery storage, wind).
  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams in asset management, operations & maintenance (O&M), and performance analytics across all technologies.
  • Develop and execute strategies for asset optimization, operational efficiency, revenue maximization, and cost reduction.
  • Oversee all stages of the asset lifecycle, from commissioning through to retirement/decommissioning.
  • Ensure assets meet or exceed performance, reliability, and financial KPIs through robust operations and advanced monitoring tools (e.g., SCADA systems, digital asset management platforms, data analytics).
  • Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models; oversee profitability and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Oversee regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and grid compliance, maintaining all necessary permits, licenses, and standards.
  • Drive M&A integration and support the technical and operational aspects of project onboarding and divestitures.
  • Manage key commercial agreements, including PPAs, tax equity structures, O&M and service contracts.
  • Lead risk management initiatives, including contingency planning, operational risk mitigation, and insurance oversight.
  • Serve as the primary interface for stakeholders: investors, lenders, board, regulatory agencies, utilities, contractors, and service providers.
  • Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout teams and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, business, finance, or related); advanced degree (MBA or similar) strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in renewables portfolio management, operations, or finance; prior executive leadership preferred.
  • Deep expertise in solar, BESS, and wind technologies, with proven ability to manage technical, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Strong track record of enhancing asset performance and profitability through data-driven strategy and best practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams and working cross-functionally.
  • Contract negotiation and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
