The Foundation seeks an experienced and dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operations, compliance, and capital improvement activities of Veterans Village properties within the Homeless Veteran Program. This position is responsible for ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, compliant, and cost-effective while supporting an exceptional living environment for veterans. The Facilities Manager will lead maintenance operations, manage vendors and contractors, oversee budgets and projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the Foundation's mission through efficient property stewardship.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, possess strong leadership and project management skills, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in facilities and property operations.
Duties And Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of facility maintenance and building systems across Veterans Village properties.
- Ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, access control, and other building systems are operating effectively.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, grounds, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate corrective repairs, emergency maintenance, and after-hours response activities.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance, repair, safety, and operational needs.
- Maintain resident units, common areas, offices, and support spaces in a safe and functional condition.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, environmental, housing, and organizational requirements.
- Conduct facility inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Maintain emergency preparedness plans, fire safety systems, permits, and required certifications.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards and operational risks.
- Support facility inspections, accreditation reviews, and operational readiness initiatives.
- Monitor properties for building code, fire safety, environmental, zoning, and municipal compliance requirements.
- Respond to notices of violation issued by local, state, or federal agencies.
- Coordinate inspections and corrective actions to resolve violations within required timelines.
- Work with contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, attorneys, and government agencies to address compliance matters.
- Maintain records of violations, permits, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance status.
- Prepare and submit documentation required by regulatory and jurisdictional authorities.
- Attend hearings, administrative proceedings, municipal meetings, and regulatory reviews related to permits, compliance matters, and zoning issues.
- Serve as the Foundation's representative before regulatory agencies and jurisdictional authorities.
- Track compliance deadlines and provide status updates regarding outstanding violations, legal matters, and compliance risks.
- Solicit bids, evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage service agreements.
- Supervise maintenance staff, custodial personnel, vendors, and contractors.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality of work, safety compliance, and project execution.
