as a vital component of the facility management team, position will perform advanced (senior-level) supervisory and administrative duties directing employees responsible for the care and custody of inmates by promoting and supporting a professional work force. This work involves management of inmates by providing oversight of effective correctional practices to include educational, vocational and work programs to encourage successful re-entry into society.

Under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, will plan, assign, and/or manage the work of others.

• provide direct management, leadership, and supervision for inmate programs or administrative services which may include litigation coordinator, ada coordinator, facility information officer, accreditation process, policy development, inmate disciplinary process, case management, food service and laundry, religious activities, staff training, inmate grievances, inmate pay, facility publication and administrative support;
• utilize highly effective communication techniques and organizational development processes and encourage strong team performance;
• direct, through subordinate staff, the overall administration, management and operation of inmate religious, vocational, educational, recreational, and volunteer programs;
• monitor and maintain statistical data concerning mental health programs, contract services, law library and general library;
• ensure that all program units are conforming to division and departmental concepts, goals and fiscal accountability;
• direct and collaborate through subordinate staff, all schedules, plans, and projects by on-site inspection, control, and monitoring fiscal budgets and problem solving;
• assure public safety, security, and safety for all staff and inmates by alliance of all available resources to support inmates in their progression through the correctional system to assist them in successful reintegration into society;
• position acts as the duty officer of a facility during night, weekend, and holiday schedules on a rotational basis;
• serve as facility incident commander; organizing actions and responses to emergency situations and incident alert drills;
• position will require travel and/or shift work;
• endorse and adhere to the cdoc mission and vision promoting commitment and integrity;
• perform other job related duties as assigned.

• eight (8) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, behavioral science, or related field. Experience must be described in detail on your application to receive credit.
