Amazon is a customer‑centric company where skilled professionals build innovative solutions to improve customer experiences.
The ADC Facility Operations Center (FOC) monitors 24/7 the physical infrastructure of air‑gapped, isolated environments that host classified workloads. The ADC FOC Technical Specialist ensures global continuity in training, qualifications, certifications, event management, and program delivery across multiple ADC FOC instances. The role combines deep data‑center infrastructure expertise with program development to raise the technical bar and deliver measurable operational improvements.
Keyjob responsibilities
- Operate independently across air‑gapped ADC environments and provide technical escalation support to ADC FOC engineers on a rotating on‑call schedule.
- Own and deliver one or more global ADC FOC programs (training development, event quality optimization, new‑site launch, or colocation delivery). Design, create, and launch learning content, workshops, and instructor‑led training programs; measure and report training health across all regions.
- Facilitate event‑gathering processes, review after‑action reports, and implement global action items. Drive regional drills and audits to identify and close gaps.
- Analyze infrastructure data to locate systemic issues and develop solutions that propagate across all ADC FOC sites; maintain and improve runbooks and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with commercial FOC teams to share best practices and align processes; coordinate new‑site launches to integrate FOC services efficiently.
- Communicate complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders; influence decision‑making through data‑driven reports and narratives.
- Mentor and guide ADC FOC team members across regions; drive ownership of organizational and team‑level goals.
- Work outside normal business hours to support the 24/7 operation of the ADC FOC and travel as required.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Microsoft Word, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- Current, active U.S. government security clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph. US citizenship required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently with limited direct management.
- 5+ years of project management in data center or comparable critical infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSH).
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
- Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure and ability to apply best practices across sites.
