Job Summary
Shipping Clerk Level 1 is responsible for performing basic shipping and warehouse tasks including picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of shipping and warehouse operations.

Duties and Responsibilities- Adheres to all company Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in the continuous improvement process; maintains warehouse and shipping areas in a neat, clean, and orderly manner in accordance with 5S practices.
- Picks customer orders accurately from warehouse stock while maintaining First-in-First-out control.
- Packs orders using appropriate materials for the product and shipping method.
- Affixes correct shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Assembles cardboard containers, cartons, and builds any other packaging materials as necessary.
- Secures packages for shipment by using banding appropriate system.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all aspects of the shipments meet specifications.
- Operates powered industrial trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments to and from warehouse and work area.
- Performs periodic cycle counts.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action meetings.
- Assists in other warehouse functions when needed.

- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
- Basic familiarity with computers and basic software applications.
- Strong situational and physical awareness.
- Basic knowledge of label printers.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software is a plus.
- Knowledge of the operation of material handling equipment.
- Ability to pass Powered Industrial Truck certification within 60 days.
- Meets beginner level competency on all requirements for picking components in small parcel and picking and packaging components in freight/LTL.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Wav, electric pallet jack certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- 6+ months of experience with order picking and/or RF Scanner.
- 6+ months of experience shipping in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
Majority of the time is divided between standing, stooping, and walking. Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs; manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs. Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions. Work environment includes moving mechanical parts (approximately 90% of the time) with moderate noise exposure.

CompensationThe compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
