About AZAK

AZAK is transforming how the world moves. We are a startup in defense technology, empowering people with everything they need to move, achieve, and do more with the world's most efficient, powerful, and structurally adaptable electric mobility systems.

AZAK’s patented technology places all of the drive components needed to operate an electric vehicle inside and below the center point of the wheel. This simple but groundbreaking mechanical innovation helps us create vehicles with the lowest center of gravity, that are more energy efficient, and that have modular properties that provide optionality, space savings, and freedom of frame design.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hyper-focused Battery Assembly & Test Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fabricating, evaluating, and assuring the quality of the custom lithium‑ion battery packs that power our advanced robotic mobility systems.

This is a hands‑on technical role that requires high procedural discipline, precise repetition, and a sharp eye for quality control. If you are a curious, driven individual who wants to escape the mundane and build high‑performance tactical hardware, this position offers a massive opportunity for professional growth and deep, end‑to‑end knowledge of battery pack manufacturing and energy systems development.

What You’ll Do
  • Battery Pack Production
    :
Measure, grade, and record individual cylindrical cell specifications (voltage, internal resistance, and capacity metrics). Operate and maintain precision resistance spot‑welding equipment to securely connect cells to custom busbars, mechanically building and insulating multi‑cell parallel/series configurations.
  • Quality Control (QC) & Testing
    :
Perform rigorous incoming quality checks on structural raw parts, electrical busbars, circuitry, and cells against our strict engineering standards. Set up, monitor, and execute functional charging and discharging validation tests on fully assembled packs.
  • Inventory & Logistics Control
    :
Periodically audit and verify localized physical inventory quantities, maintaining high data accuracy within our inventory tracking software. Properly unbox, inspect, label, and locate newly arriving hardware components to ensure a clean, safe, and organized shop floor.
  • SOP Execution & Optimization
    :
Read and execute detailed manufacturing process plans with absolute fidelity. Actively identify production line bottlenecks or procedural pain points, collaborating directly with the engineering team to modify process plans and provide structured feedback on workflow optimizations.
Requirements
  • Extreme Focus & Precision Repeatability: Because battery assembly involves building dense, high‑energy circuitry, there is zero margin for error. We are looking for an individual who takes immense pride in precision, maintains an uncompromised safe work environment, and can consistently perform highly repetitive tasks flawlessly hour after hour.
  • Education: High school diploma, technical trade certification, or equivalent hands‑on hardware experience.
  • Tool Knowledge: Basic familiarity with electronics lab tools (e.g., digital multimeters, calipers, simple battery chargers).
  • Assembly Methods: Experience with, or a fierce willingness to master, high‑precision assembly methods (such as spot welding, soldering, or micro‑fastener assembly).
  • Data‑driven Execution: Comfortable utilizing computer software for data tracking, updating spreadsheets, or inputting inventory updates.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods during hardware testing and assembly shifts.
  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Denver, CO.
Preferred Skills
  • An Active Learning Mindset: Strong curiosity regarding how energy storage products operate, diagnose, and scale.
  • Strong Communication

    Skills:

Excellent verbal and written feedback skills to accurately document technical testing details for the Senior Battery Engineer.
Culture Fit
  • A True Tinkerer: You love to build things. Whether it's a project in your garage, fixing cars, a custom…
