Assistant Miller – 3rd Shift
As an Assistant Miller, you will run the cleaning house side of the mill, support the shift miller, and ensure all wheat and flour meets required specifications while following Food Safety Policies, GMPs, and completing sanitation and IPM tasks. You must set up machinery to maximize results.
Key Responsibilities- Operate specific phases of milling and wheat cleaning operations as assigned, including sanitation duties.
- Assist in preventive checks and mill repairs.
- Follow schedule and specifications for wheat blending and provide feedback.
- Perform testing and monitoring of product through milling and cleaning.
- Maintain sanitation standards and safety policies.
- Maintain tools/equipment and execute 5S, AMPS, and other process tools.
- Document activities and inventories via computer or paper systems.
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and customers.
- Deliver results in first‑time situations, inspire others, and earn trust.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new programs.
- Mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting ability.
- Understanding of safety behaviors in a production environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses, footwear, hard hat, hearing protection, respirator). Rotate schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Operate in a 24/7 continuous process in hot/cold, indoor/outdoor, dusty, noisy, vibration, confined and elevated spaces. Frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, lift, climb stairs or ladders, and use tools. Must read, interpret instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
