Job Description
- Operates and maintains associated machinery required to support the molding process to produce and audit PET plastic containers.
Supports downstream processes.
Performs process set-up, preventative maintenance and changeovers. - Follows all established safety rules and guidelines. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors. Properly uses all personal protective equipment.
- Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production.
- Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shut-down procedures for each machine.
- Helps develop work instructions and levels training programs for next generation operators.
- Operates one step machinery including laser dating systems, leak detection systems, using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.
- Conducts quality inspections using specific written and visual guidelines.
- Monitors operations of one step machines and all downstream equipment to detect machine malfunctions.
- Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop machines and production to report malfunctions to the maintenance technician, quality technician, and/or supervisor.
- Performs minor adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions.
- Performs preventive maintenance and change overs on machines.
- Scans and consumes production tickets using computer interface.
- Accurately completes all logs, data input and written, to include quality checks and downtime.
- Removes any damaged material from machine.
- Assembles packaging to be used for storage and transport of finished product.
- Operates pallet jack and forklift to move finished product from machine to the staging area.
- Effectively communicates with all internal departments.
- Relieves maintenance technician during breaks.
- Performs and maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet plant goals.

- Education:
High School Diploma or GED - One to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and resolve conflicts
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Forklift experience and certification, or willingness to become certified
