Assistant Miller – 3rd Shift

As an Assistant Miller, you will be responsible for running the cleaning house side of the mill, supporting the shift miller, and ensuring all wheat and flour meets the required specifications while following Food Safety Policies, GMPs, and completing sanitation and IPM tasks. You will utilize milling knowledge with the ability to set up machinery to maximize results.

Your responsibilities:
  • Assume specific phases of milling and wheat cleaning operations as assigned, including sanitation duties.
  • Develop mechanical ability to assist in all aspects of preventative checks and mill repair.
  • Accurately follow the schedule and specifications for wheat blending and provide feedback.
  • Learn and proficiently perform testing and monitoring of product through milling and cleaning processes.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in accordance with policies to provide a safe, food‑safe work environment.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, executing processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards, using process tools such as Centerline and 5S, and applying 5‑why for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation of activities and inventories through computer or paper systems.
  • Communicate effectively with management, team members, and customers.
Essential skills and experiences:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new programs.
Good to have:
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting ability.
  • Understanding of safety behaviors within a production environment.
  • Mill production experience.
Physical requirements and working conditions:
  • Ability to wear PPE as required in operating areas (safety glasses, footwear, hard hat, hearing protection, respirator).
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a machine‑paced continuous process operating 24/7, with conditions including hot/cold temperatures, dusty environment with wheat/gluten allergens, frequent vibration, and exposure to elevated places.
  • Ability to perform work safely that may require frequent standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, reaching, lifting, climbing stairs or ladders, pushing, pulling, and working in confined or elevated places.
Other considerations:
  • Must be able to read, interpret instructions and technology, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be willing to work alongside your team, including long days, rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights), and overtime, weekend, or holiday work.
  • Willingness for training and development in milling practices and programs.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Team members must be clean shaven to achieve a proper respirator seal.
  • Acceptance of drug testing and pre‑employment background checks as required by law.
Competitive Compensation:

Hourly – 29.37 USD per hour (Denver, CO)
