The Maintenance Manager II serves as a subject matter expert and technical resource for projects requiring advanced maintenance and engineering knowledge. This role ensures plant equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational to minimize production downtime. The position coordinates maintenance activities performed by both internal maintenance teams and external contractors. Responsibilities also include oversight of laboratory and office equipment, building systems, parking lots, and facility grounds.
Working under limited supervision, the Maintenance Manager II leads and coordinates the activities of the local Maintenance Department to support the design, development, improvement, testing, and operation of components and systems within Dawn's manufacturing operations.
This position is onsite at the Denver Manufacturing Plant, supporting 24/7 operations. The role primarily works a Monday - Friday day-shift schedule and requires on-call availability to support nights, weekends, off-shift operations, and emergency maintenance needs as required.
What will you do as a Maintenance Manager II at Dawn Foods?- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate the maintenance team, continuously assessing team performance and allocating resources to support schedule attainment and operational success.
- Provide direction for all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment, machinery, buildings, grounds, and electrical systems operate safely and reliably.
- Oversee project teams and maintenance activities related to new products, equipment installations, and other large-scale projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Partner with Quality, International Food Standard (IFS), and cross-functional teams to support production schedules, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability, operational efficiency, product quality, safety, capacity, and waste reduction.
- Promote a strong safety culture through audits, hazard identification, safe work practices, and compliance with OSHA, FDA, GMP, IFS, AIB, HACCP, and company requirements.
- Manage maintenance budgets, repair spending, capital projects, staffing levels, overtime, and operating costs.
- Support D.O.M.E. Pillars and Continuous Improvement teams to enhance plant performance and results.

- Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or similar discipline with 6 years of maintenance experience OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing, developing, and leading teams with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities within structured time frames required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills essential; good computer skills required.
