The Assembler will be responsible for assembling signs according to specified guidelines and shop drawings. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and possess strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble components and products using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, diagrams, and work instructions to ensure proper assembly.
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Perform quality checks to ensure components and products meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Report any discrepancies or issues in the assembly process to the supervisor.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
- Keep accurate records of assembly activities and production output.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Certification in manufacturing or related field.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
