Job Description

A Sander in the Custom Reverse department is responsible for preparing, smoothing, and finishing custom fabricated parts and surfaces to meet strict quality and aesthetic standards. This role involves reading and interpreting work instructions or job travelers, inspecting surfaces for imperfections, utilizing hand and power sanding tools to achieve specified finishes, and ensuring the final product meets exact quality standards before moving to assembly or painting.

The Sander must have good manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic sanding/grinding equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, job travelers, and technical specifications.
• Expertise in various sanding techniques, grits, and surface preparation on different materials.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on precision to identify minor surface flaws.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
• Stamina to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a production environment with dust and vibration (appropriate safety gear and respirators provided).

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in custom fabrication, automotive refinishing, cabinetry, or a related prep field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of finishing compounds or surface treatments is a plus.
• Familiarity with custom manufacturing processes is a plus.

Pay Range: $19.25-$26.00
