JK Concepts is looking for an experienced Cabinet Assembly Lead to join our commercial architectural millwork team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, knows how to keep work moving, and can lead a team by example. The Cabinet Assembly Lead will oversee approximately 4–8 team members while working alongside the team to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
We are looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, accountability, and a positive attitude to the shop every day. The right person knows how to set expectations, develop employees, solve problems, and maintain high standards without losing sight of production goals.
What You'll Do- Lead the day-to-day workflow of the Cabinet Assembly department and provide direction to a team of approximately 4–8 employees
- Set the pace and expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship
- Review shop drawings, plans, specifications, and work orders to ensure products are built correctly
- Inspect and quality-check components received from Machining before assembly begins
- Train and coach employees on proper assembly techniques and the safe use of tools and equipment
- Monitor production flow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
- Ensure labor and production time are accurately tracked in Innergy
- Inspect completed products for quality and accuracy before wrapping and shipment
- Ensure work orders leave the department 100% complete
- Complete and maintain daily case-count documentation by work order
- Help troubleshoot production, quality, and assembly issues as they arise
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform additional duties as needed to support production and the overall operation
- Previous experience in commercial architectural millwork, cabinetry, casework, or a related woodworking environment
- Leadership, lead-person, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Working knowledge of woodworking equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Understanding of proper tool operation, maintenance, and shop safety practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a team-focused environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work within production schedules and meet established deadlines
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to lead by example
This is an active, hands-on production position. Employees must be able to:
- Stand for the majority of the workday
- Regularly lift and carry materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds
- Use appropriate team-lifting practices for items exceeding individual lifting limits
- Regularly bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, and perform other movements associated with cabinet and millwork assembly
- Safely operate hand and power tools in a high-volume manufacturing environment
