Operations Manager

SUMMARY The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily execution of Production operations, including Dye House, Blank Stock, Screen Print, Pre-Press, Samples, and related production functions. This position is accountable for staffing, employee performance, productivity, labor allocation, quality, and execution of daily and weekly production plans.

The Operations Manager works closely with department supervisors and cross-functional partners to ensure production priorities are clearly communicated, resources are effectively allocated, operational issues are addressed, and production areas are properly supported to meet performance, quality, and business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Oversee daily Production operations and provide leadership to Production employees across assigned manufacturing functions.

Ensure daily and weekly production plans, priorities, and performance expectations are clearly communicated and executed.

Review staffing, production priorities, equipment readiness, workflow, and operational needs each day and make appropriate adjustments.

Monitor production pace and performance throughout the day and take timely action when departments are behind plan or operational issues arise.

Coordinate labor allocation and workflow between production departments to support efficient use of resources and achievement of production requirements.

Manage employee attendance, scheduling, performance, training, development, and day-to-day workforce needs.

Coach and support department supervisors in addressing employee, workflow, performance, and production issues.

Partner with Human Resources regarding corrective action, hiring, promotions, transfers, employee relations, and other workforce matters.

Monitor and act on production performance measures, including production completed versus plan, labor efficiency and productivity, print efficiency, dye production, quality and reject rates, downtime, rework, attendance, overtime, staffing, and cross-training.

Identify root causes when production, labor, quality, or other performance targets are missed and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, process improvements, employee development, and cross-training opportunities.

Work closely with QA/QC, Warehouse, Facilities, and other departments to resolve issues and support efficient production operations.

Ensure Net Suite information and other required production reporting are timely and accurate.

Maintain a safe, organized, productive, and accountable work environment.

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Strong manufacturing or production leadership experience.

Previous management experience.

Strong employee leadership, coaching, performance-management, and development skills.

Ability to effectively manage multiple production departments, employees, priorities, and changing operational needs.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Experience using production KPIs, labor information, and operational results to manage performance and take corrective action.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, management, and cross-functional partners.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of results, address operational issues, and work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred:

Experience using Net Suite, Excel, and related computer or production-reporting systems.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Work is performed in a manufacturing and production environment supporting areas that include Dye House, Blank Stock, Screen Print, Pre-Press, Samples, and related production operations.
