About Hope Communities
Hope Communities was founded in 1980 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of decent, affordable housing in Denver. Beginning in the historic Five Points neighborhood, Hope Communities operated a single building of rental units that Denver families and individuals could afford; almost thirty years later, the organization’s geographic focus has expanded to include the entire Metro Denver area, at a time where affordable housing has only become more critical.
OurPrograms and Services
In addition to rental housing, Hope Communities also offers an array of programs and services designed to empower residents and build community. These include adult education, youth education, health and wellness programs, case management, and events to engage the entire community.
Volunteer Opportunity – Period Kit AssemblyHope Communities, a nonprofit providing support and affordable housing to intersectional communities across the Denver area, distributes period kits to community members in need. We rely on volunteers throughout the year to assemble these essential kits that provide comfort and dignity. You can build a kit individually or with a group!
To build a period kit, you will need:- Pads (regular and overnight)
- Tampons (variety of sizes)
- Panty liners
- Feminine wipes (unscented preferred)
- Small travel-size toiletries (optional)
- Encouraging note or card (optional)
Please pack your items in a reusable shopping bag or pouch. You can create as many period kits as you would like, and they will be distributed directly to community members who need them most.
This is a meaningful way to support health and dignity in our community! Please email volunteer to coordinate drop-off.
