The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer and public face of ACE Mentor Chicago, responsible for the strategic, operational, and administrative leadership of the organization. Working closely with the Executive and Associate Boards, the Executive Director oversees program delivery, fundraising, partnerships, and day-to-day operations, ensuring ACE Chicago continues to expand its reach and impact.
This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented leader who can manage complex initiatives, steward a growing network of corporate and philanthropic partners, and center equity and opportunity in all aspects of ACE’s mission.
Leadership & Strategy- Provide vision and leadership for the continued growth and sustainability of ACE Chicago.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to shape strategic goals and implement board-led initiatives.
- Serve as the public representative of ACE Chicago at industry events, student programs, and fundraising activities.
- Support program delivery across all major initiatives: after school mentorship, summer design-build programs, paid internships, and scholarships.
- Oversee program evaluation and impact tracking; maintain data systems and student records.
- Ensure equitable access and high‑quality experiences for all student participants.
- Maintain all organizational systems, calendars, files, and compliance documents with exceptional attention to detail.
- Manage budgeting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping in collaboration with the Board Treasurer and outside vendors.
- Administer scholarships, internships, and student records with accuracy and discretion.
- Support fundraising efforts including annual benefit events, donor stewardship, and board‑giving campaigns.
- Search out and respond to grant opportunities.
- Manage sponsor relationships, donor acknowledgments, and reporting obligations.
- Oversee communications, including newsletters, website content, and marketing materials.
- Serve as primary liaison to the Executive and Associate Boards, preparing materials for meetings, managing board calendars, and supporting committee work.
- Ensure transparency and strong governance practices in all aspects of board collaboration.
- Bachelor’s Degree or five years relatable experience preferred.
- Demonstrated administrative excellence with strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
- Passion for youth development, education, and equity in the built environment.
- Familiarity with architecture, construction, engineering, or design education preferred.
- Experience working with or for nonprofit organizations and/or complex volunteer‑driven programs.
- High comfort level managing calendars, databases, shared drives, spreadsheets, and email campaigns.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple ongoing projects and deadlines.
- Availability for meetings throughout the day and occasional evening and weekend events.
