The Schreiber Research Group (TSRG) is a Colorado-based nonprofit comprised of public health, public policy, nursing, data science, economics, and project management experts. TSRG is a research-driven organization working to find solutions and fill knowledge gaps in response to the substance use crisis. Through vigorous research and community engagement, the project team discovered the need for a workforce center that could synthesize these resources and provide one-on-one career counseling services.
The Ameri Corps Member will serve an essential role in developing and implementing a program plan for this workforce center. In 2023, TSRG performed a market analysis of resources in southeastern Colorado for people in recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD) who are attempting to reenter the workforce. Through this investigation the team discovered the need for a workforce center.
Duties
The Ameri Corps member will support the preparation of key elements of a workforce center for people in recovery. This may include identification of assessment tools, funding sources, resources needed for implementation, staffing needs, strategies to support people with a history of SUD/OUD or co‑occurring mental health issues, and more. The member will also conduct an investigation into the needs of potential program participants, preparing surveys and interviews, analyzing data, and preparing recommendations.
