Position Title: Community Advocate Coordinator, HIPPY

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Salary: $22.32-$24.32

Location: Primarily based out of our Denver office at 711 Park Ave W, Denver, CO 80205. 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected hourly pay rate for this position is $22.32 - $24.32 ($46,425.60 - $50,585.60 annualized). In an effort to increase equity and to avoid unfair bias historically associated with salary negotiations, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.

How You’ll Help

This position is within our Early Child Care and Education impact area. Here, we work to strengthen the conditions for children to thrive through early learning opportunities, family supports, and partnerships with schools that build strong developmental foundations for children and contribute to whole-family stability. High-quality early care promotes academic, social, and emotional development, strengthens parent confidence, and reinforces safety and belonging.

It also creates the space families need to pursue employment, education, and long-term goals, supporting generational pathways to opportunity.

The Community Advocate Coordinator, HIPPY will be responsible for providing evidence-based in-home (or virtual) parenting education services utilizing the Home Instruction for the Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) curriculum primarily to families with young children within specific neighborhoods in Denver-Metro communities. The Community Advocate Coordinator, HIPPY actively engages, builds rapport, and establishes a trusting relationship with community members with a focus on early childhood education;

provides community members with referrals to local community services; and establishes relationships and partnerships with nonprofit service providers by participating in community engagement activities with local agencies.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Implement the HIPPY (Home Instruction for the Parents of Preschool Youngsters) curriculum to 15-17 families in specific neighborhoods in Denver-metro communities. Program modifications will be made to comply with health and safety measures and national best practices. In order to maintain fidelity to the program, the position is required to:
    • Meet with families and role play the curriculum with assigned families each week in their home.
    • Participate in the planning of group meetings, including role playing the curriculum and the provision of an enrichment activity.
    • Participate in training and other staff development activities.
    • Attend and participate in weekly supervision.
    • Keep supervisor informed of child/family progress and family issues/concerns as they arise.
    • Timely completion and submission of required forms and other documentation as required.
    • Participation in all sponsored HIPPY activities such as field trips, graduations, awards ceremonies, etc.
    • Assist supervisor in maintaining an efficient record keeping system of participating families.
  • Actively engage and build trust with community members to assess need and deploy resources.
  • Support community members to overcome barriers to accessing community services
  • Identify and refer community members to needed community services.
  • Provide follow-up support to community members to assess if needs were met.
  • Support families by offering 211 resource navigation.
  • Attend partner meetings and events, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the Mile High United Way Community Schools team, as necessary.
  • Support early childhood partners, if necessary, in the implementation of evaluation tools and surveys
Additional Responsibilities
  • Learn and become proficient utilizing a resource referral database.
  • Learn and become proficient in data input.
  • Support cross-departmental efforts, events, and activities, including volunteerism opportunities in the community.
