Senior Manager of Volunteer Services
A Precious Child, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. A Precious Child envisions a future where every child grows up to be a secure, self-reliant, contributing member of their community.
Provides strategic leadership and oversight of A Precious Child's Volunteer Services department, supporting one of Colorado's largest volunteer engagement programs with more than 8,000 annual volunteers. Leads the development of department strategy, community and corporate partnerships, volunteer recruitment and retention initiatives, and long-term growth while directly supervising the Volunteer Services Manager. Partners across the organization to ensure volunteer resources effectively support organizational priorities, major seasonal programs, and future expansion.
Hours:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM, exempt, with some evenings and weekends.

Description of Duties:
- Provides strategic leadership for the recruitment, engagement, placement, training, and retention of more than 8,000 annual volunteers, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and volunteer experience standards.
- Leads the planning and execution of offsite volunteer engagement initiatives, overseeing logistics, resources, budgets, and volunteer experiences to ensure successful events and meaningful community impact.
- Serves as the organizational leader for volunteer engagement by partnering with departments to strengthen volunteer utilization, resolve complex volunteer matters, and ensure a consistent, high-quality volunteer experience across the organization.
- Leads, coaches, and develops the Volunteer Services team through regular performance management, mentorship, and professional development.
- Drives innovation, process improvement, and operational efficiencies to enhance volunteer engagement, department performance, and organizational impact.
- Provides strategic oversight of volunteer relations, including escalated concerns, policy development, high-risk incidents, and partnership with HR on complex issues.
- Partners with the Development team to leverage volunteer engagement strategies that strengthen donor relationships, community partnerships, and organizational fundraising efforts.
- Cultivates and presents to corporate, community, and civic partners to expand volunteer engagement and strengthen community partnerships.
- Oversees organization-wide volunteer communications, recruitment campaigns, and engagement initiatives.
- Develops and leads the organization's volunteer recruitment strategy to attract, engage, and retain a diverse and sustainable volunteer workforce in support of A Precious Child's mission.
- Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with volunteer policies, procedures, risk management practices, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Supports with volunteer management and scheduling for seasonal programs, fundraising and special event volunteers.
- Oversees volunteer staffing models and scheduling strategies to ensure organizational coverage and operational effectiveness.
- Provides strategic oversight of Volunteer Hub and volunteer management systems to ensure accurate reporting, efficient operations, and a positive volunteer experience.
- Provides leadership presence during volunteer experiences and organizational events as needed.
- Oversees volunteer recognition, retention, and engagement strategies to strengthen long-term volunteer commitment and satisfaction.

Qualifications:
- Passion for A Precious Child's mission, vision, and commitment to serving children and families.
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Human Services, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience supervising large-scale volunteer programs serving thousands of annual volunteers preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in volunteer management, nonprofit operations, community engagement, or a related leadership role.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing employees, coaching performance, and developing leaders.
- Demonstrated success leading department strategy, budgeting, operational planning, and continuous process improvement.
- Experience developing volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies for a large-scale volunteer program.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain corporate partnerships, community relationships, and volunteer engagement initiatives.
- Experience managing volunteer management software, preferably Volunteer Hub, and utilizing data and reporting to drive decision-making.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from individual volunteers to large corporate and community groups.
