Volunteer Engagement Program Leader

Do you believe great volunteer experiences can create an even greater guest experience? We're looking for a collaborative and inclusive leader to guide the Museum's Volunteer Engagement program and the staff who make it possible. In this role, you'll build meaningful opportunities for volunteers, interns and work-study students while strengthening a welcoming, sustainable program that supports the Museum's mission and community.

Job Class:
Full Time Hiring Range: $67,000-$70,000

Work Schedule:

M-F, daytime, occasional weekends/evenings/holidays Direct Reports: 3

Essential Duties
  • Leads institutional efforts to engage volunteers, interns and work-study students.
  • Effective supervision of volunteer engagement specialists including goal setting, modeling behavior, and working as a team
  • Leads and conducts periodic evaluations of volunteer program and makes recommendations for program adjustments to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
  • Ensures the morale of the teams is maintained to keep the team functioning at a high level and ensures a positive and healthy team culture.
  • Maintains and effectively uses the volunteer database to support accurate reporting, informed decisions, and volunteer engagement program planning.
  • Actively embraces and champions the museum-wide Inclusion strategy.
Minimum Qualifications /Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in cultural spaces or education.
  • 3 years' experience in volunteer coordination or related field.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience of staff or volunteers.
  • 1 year experience working in database/CRM/POS back end or equivalent programs
  • Occasional evening and weekends required
