Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available;

provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care delivery.
• Plan and anticipate needs for safe delivery of nursing care.
• Delegate patient care priorities to appropriate staff members.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two to five years of clinical experience required.
• Must have ACLS & BLS certifications, through the American Heart Association.
• Vent/trach experience and knowledge of central lines required.
• Preferred wound care experience.
• Must possess a valid CO or multi-state compact RN license.
• Patient ratios of 1:6.
