Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Assist in surgical procedures within the operating room environment, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Provide specialized perioperative care aligned with surgical team protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
• Assist surgeons and surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and managing supplies.
• Monitor patient vital signs and status throughout surgical interventions, responding to any changes.
• Document procedures, observations, and patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
• Adhere to safety protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent infections and complications.
• Support preoperative and postoperative patient care, including positioning and recovery monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with valid state certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience in an operating room setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; additional certifications such as ortho/spine, CV or robotics are preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
• Strong clinical skills in providing perioperative patient care and managing surgical equipment.
