Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during complex surgeries.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans prior to surgery.
- Prepare operating room by ensuring all equipment and sterile supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations, maintaining strict aseptic techniques.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
- Respond promptly to intraoperative emergencies to ensure patient safety.
- Hold a valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Possess at least 2 years of operating room nursing experience.
- Have current certifications such as ACLS and BLS.
- Demonstrate proficiency with surgical procedures including total joints, spine, transplants, robotics, vascular, ENT, and plastics.
- Exhibit strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
