Heights Care & Rehab is seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate healthcare professional to serve as our Infection Control Nurse & Staff Development Coordinator.

This is a unique leadership opportunity for a nurse who enjoys teaching, mentoring, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring residents receive the safest and highest quality care possible.

As the Infection Control & Staff Development Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in shaping the clinical culture of our facility by leading staff education, overseeing infection prevention efforts, and helping ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.

What You'll Do Infection Prevention & Control
  • Lead and oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Monitor infection trends, outbreaks, antibiotic utilization, and surveillance activities
  • Conduct investigations and implement corrective actions when needed
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, State, and facility infection control standards
  • Provide ongoing infection prevention education to staff
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and department managers to reduce infection risks
  • Track and report infection control data and quality measures
Staff Development & Education
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new employees
  • Develop and conduct staff education programs
  • Maintain competency programs and required clinical training
  • Ensure compliance with annual education requirements
  • Assist department leaders with coaching, mentoring, and professional development
  • Identify educational opportunities to improve resident outcomes and employee performance
  • Help foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement
Quality & Leadership
  • Participate in QAPI and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with survey preparation and regulatory readiness
  • Monitor clinical trends and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with facility leadership to improve outcomes and employee engagement
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff and leadership teams
What We’re Looking For
  • Active Colorado RN or LPN License
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent presentation, teaching, and communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to influence, coach, and develop others

    Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Skilled nursing or long‑term care experience preferred
  • Previous Infection Preventionist, Staff Development, ADON, Unit Manager, or leadership experience strongly preferred
