Position OverviewThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides coordinated medical and clinical nursing care to meet the needs of each assigned patient within the ERC Pathlight system. The RN partners with an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and a consistently therapeutic milieu for all patients. As a leader of the health‑care team, the RN uses sound clinical judgment in alignment with ERC Pathlight’s established standards of care, policies, and procedures;
remains flexible; provides effective and efficient care while maintaining quality; and upholds the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan. All teammates are expected to treat patients, families, and co‑workers with dignity and respect. The RN may be required to work on‑call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Performs a full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, administering treatment, and evaluating patient response to care in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan.
- Performs initial intake assessment of new patients and discharge reconciliation and education.
- Places, receives, and completes provider orders per ERCP policy.
- Administers medications via multiple routes in accordance with ERCP policy and provider orders.
- Performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point‑of‑care testing in accordance with ERCP policy and laboratory vendor protocols.
- Places and maintains nasogastric tubes and administers enteral feeding.
- Places and maintains intravenous access and administers intravenous fluids.
- Performs wound care.
- Documents all direct patient care, monitoring, and observation in the electronic medical record.
- Supervises and delegates care to licensed practical/vocational nurses and behavioral health technicians.
- Communicates and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement an individualized treatment plan for each assigned patient.
- Ensures care provided aligns with the individualized treatment plan and patient outcome goals.
- Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding patient progress toward treatment goals and planning for continued or changing clinical interventions.
- Documents and reports to the treatment team regarding patient status and progress.
- Participates in training, teaching, and mentoring new nursing department teammates.
- Responds to emergency situations until emergency medical services (EMS/911) arrive on scene.
- Active Registered Nurse license in state of employment.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Experience working with patients in the mental health field (1 year+ preferred).
This position’s compensation range is based upon candidate experience and market expectations: $40 – $49 USD per hour.
