Registered Nurse Supervisor – Inpatient Hospice
Intermountain Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor for our Inpatient Hospice unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership and coordination for a team of hospice nurses and support staff, ensuring that patients and their families receive safe, dignified, and emotionally supportive end-of-life care.
ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse Supervisor Inpatient Hospice will oversee day-to-day clinical operations on the inpatient hospice unit, including patient assessment, care planning, and coordination of interdisciplinary services.
You will supervise nursing staff, manage assignments and workloads, support clinical decision-making, and serve as a resource for complex symptom management and palliative interventions.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other members of the care team to develop and update individualized hospice care plans focused on comfort, quality of life, and patient and family goals.
This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality, monitoring clinical outcomes, and promoting adherence to hospice regulations, organizational policies, and evidence-based best practices.
You will participate in staffing and scheduling, assist with onboarding and ongoing training of nursing staff, and provide coaching and performance feedback to foster professional growth and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in championing a culture of compassion and respect, supporting staff in managing the emotional demands of end-of-life care, and ensuring that patient and family needs are addressed with sensitivity and cultural competence.
The Registered Nurse Supervisor will also help coordinate transitions of care into and out of the inpatient hospice setting, communicating effectively with referring providers, hospitals, and community-based services.
You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements aimed at improving patient experience, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a collaborative approach are essential.
