The Staff Development Coordinator-RN provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees. The coordinator also talks on the role of the Infection Prevention/Control Coordinator, and is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent/control and monitor reports of infections and/or potential infections among residents and staff.

• Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing education programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
• Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate annual training plan
• Develop specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis
• Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to the highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member

• Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required. Background/training in infection control is preferred
• Current CPR certificate
