Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process, technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
St. Mary’s Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular OR RN to join our surgical services team. As a CVOR nurse, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and fellow nurses to ensure seamless operations and exceptional outcomes.

Department:
Operating Room
Shift: 10 hours/day Monday - Friday, variable days with call; some nights, weekends and holidays.
Location:
St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado.
- Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs.
- Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind.
- Assess a patient’s medical status upon admission.
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
- Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients and visitors that require verbal communication and quick, accurate understanding of spoken information and alarms, especially during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation and other tasks.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift and carry supplies and equipment, typically including items of varying weights up to and including heavy items.
- Require walking and assisting with transporting/ambulating patients and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing and pulling gurneys and portable equipment with heavy items.
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms full of equipment and power cords on the floor.
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- BSN from an accredited program.
- Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license, required.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire, required. (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).
- At least one (1) year of cardiothoracic nursing experience in a comparable acute care/surgical services setting, highly preferred.
Hourly rate: $36.71 - $56.17, depending on experience.
