Registered Nurse CVC Center PRN (Part-Time)
The Cardiovascular Center (CVC) RN supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center by delivering nursing care to patients requiring telemetry and/or medical‑surgical care. The CVC RN serves as the primary nurse, collaborating with all disciplines to ensure coordinated care before, during, and after procedural sedation. This role is confined to a self‑scheduling model of three 12‑hour day shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with no holidays or call required.
Responsibilities- Lead collaboration of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care prior to, during, and following procedural sedation.
- Obtain patient history, current medications, and perform nursing assessment, ensuring standard of care is initiated.
- Obtain and coordinate pre‑procedural diagnostic testing (EKGs, labs, IV starts), analyze data, communicate findings, and document accurately.
- Initiate and document post‑procedure instruction and discharge teaching, involving patient and family/significant others.
- Manage patient care for diagnostic/interventional cardiac catheterizations, interventional radiology procedures, transesophageal echocardiograms, anesthesia‑assisted cardioversions, bone marrow biopsies, and related services.
- Utilize a self‑scheduling model to schedule three 12‑hour shifts per week, Monday‑Friday.
- Licensure:
Current registered nurse license in Colorado or active multistate RN license; BLS required; ACLS required upon hire. - Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. - Experience:
Minimum one year in acute care preferred. - Special qualifications:
Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and team members; ability to manage a team and work collaboratively; strong critical thinking skills.
