Job Description & How to Apply Below

As a Registered Nurse Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology at HealthONE, you will provide highly specialized, evidence-based nursing care to adults with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Working within HealthONE’s Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will join an expert interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, and therapists, all focused on delivering safe, compassionate, and cutting-edge care to patients and families facing life‑threatening illnesses.

In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care for patients throughout the transplant and oncology treatment continuum. You will manage central lines and other vascular access devices, administer high‑risk medications including chemotherapy and biotherapy in accordance with strict protocols, monitor for side effects and oncologic emergencies, and provide meticulous infection prevention for immunocompromised and neutropenic patients.

You will coordinate blood product transfusions, manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, fatigue, and mucositis, and collaborate closely with the care team to anticipate and respond to rapidly changing clinical conditions.

You will serve as a key educator and advocate for patients and their families, explaining treatment plans, transplant processes, potential risks and complications, and post‑discharge care requirements in an understandable and empathetic manner. Using strong communication and teaching skills, you will support families through complex decision‑making and help them navigate available hospital and community resources. Detailed and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, participation in multidisciplinary rounds, and contribution to discharge planning and transitions of care are essential components of your daily practice.

Aligned with HealthONE’s culture of excellence and compassion, you will actively support and model patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence‑based practice initiatives on the unit. You will follow established protocols to reduce central line–associated infections, falls, medication errors, and other preventable events, while participating in shared governance activities, staff education, and continuous process improvement. You will collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive, team‑focused environment that promotes learning, innovation, and resiliency in high‑acuity oncology and transplant care.

HealthONE offers an environment where your clinical expertise directly impacts patient outcomes and where your professional growth is strongly supported. As a nurse in this specialty area, you will have opportunities to advance your practice through oncology and bone marrow transplant–specific training, obtain specialty certifications, and participate in research, clinical trials support, and evidence‑based practice projects. You may precept new nurses and students, contribute to policy and protocol development, and help drive innovation in how complex oncology and transplant care is delivered across the system.

This position typically involves primarily inpatient, acute‑care work with 12‑hour shifts, rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet patient needs. You must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment that demands excellent clinical judgment, rapid prioritization, and strong collaboration skills.

In return, HealthONE provides competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement options, and access to continuing education, tuition support, and career advancement pathways within one of Denver’s leading healthcare providers.

Joining HealthONE as a Registered Nurse Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology means becoming part of a mission‑driven organization committed to superior patient care, community health, and supporting nurses as leaders in complex, life‑changing care.
