Job Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.
Shift InformationNight shift (7:00 p – 11:00 p; 10% differential), night differential (11:00 p – 7:00 a; 15% differential), weekend shift differential (Fri 11:00 p – Sun 11:00 p; 15% differential).
Sign‑On BonusEligible for a $20,000 sign‑on bonus for external candidates with experience, in addition to relocation assistance for out‑of‑state candidates.
Essential Functions- Assess:
Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate). Seek and evaluate information from interdisciplinary team members. - Plan:
Use assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop an individualized plan of care. Actively involve patient, family, team, and physician. - Implement:
Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan, guidelines, and professional licensure provisions. - Evaluate:
Evaluate patient response to interventions, review achievement of goals, and revise the plan of care as indicated. - Professionalism:
Promote nursing profession, integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, comply with regulatory standards, practice within scope of licensure, and provide accurate documentation.

- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- BSN required as of 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted before that date retain prior requirements.
- Need ability to see, read, and assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients and staff, especially in emergencies.
- Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and typing documentation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and carry supplies up to heavy weights.
- Walk, assist with patient transport, and navigate crowded rooms.
- May stand for extended periods.
- For driving roles: require proficiency in driving with the ability to see and read signs.
Saint Joseph Hospital, Denver, Colorado.
Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
Hourly rate: $37.45 – $57.29 (depends on experience).
