Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse
Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures while supporting multiple locations as assigned. Performs comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including review of medical history, medications, allergies, and vital signs, and verifies patient consent. Prepares patients for procedures, ensuring appropriate education, safety checks, and coordination of care. Provides intra-procedure support as a circulating nurse or moderate sedation nurse. Monitors patient status, vital signs, oxygenation, and response to medications throughout procedures.
Administers and monitors moderate sedation in accordance with organizational policies and clinical protocols. Collects, labels, documents, and ensures proper handling and transport of specimens in accordance with policies and laboratory requirements. Performs post-procedure recovery care, including monitoring for complications and ensuring patients meet discharge criteria. Provides patient and family education, discharge instructions, and supports post-procedure follow-up as needed. Collaborates with physicians, technologists, schedulers, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
Maintains accurate clinical documentation and ensures readiness of medications, supplies, and emergency equipment in compliance with regulatory standards.
