Clinical Nurse Educator

• Assist in developing and implementing initial training, future training, and care team development programs
• Conduct ongoing education for assigned teams
• Assure and document professional nurse and unlicensed personnel competency at least annually
• Lead the department's evidence-based orientation program
• Provide direct patient care as needed to support staffing, operational needs, and leadership expectations
• Facilitate learning environments supporting cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes
• Develop competency outcomes and curricula reflecting department and organizational educational needs
• Teach courses and train licensed nurses and unlicensed personnel
• Develop, maintain, and revise learning modules and lesson plans
• Assess and evaluate knowledge and competencies using varied strategies
• Contribute to policy development and revisions through research, analysis, consultation, and synthesis
• Incorporate evidence-based research into education plans, patient treatment plans, and nursing practices
• Promote critical thinking, professional development, and lifelong learning
• Mentor nurses and identify growth opportunities and education needs
• Pursue continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and quality care
• Evaluate practice against professional standards, regulatory requirements, hospital and departmental policies, and standards of care
• Redefine care priorities based on healthcare consumer and family responses or changing conditions

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• 4–6 years of direct patient care nursing experience required
• 2–5 years of operating room experience required
• RN-Registered Nurse license through DORA required
• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association required
• ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
• Adherence to ANA standards of professional nursing practice and accrediting body standards
• Strong understanding and display of customer service principles
• Ability to promote quality patient-centric care and maintain patient satisfaction
• Ability to work effectively in a team matrix environment
• Clear and effective communication at all levels and in cross-functional environments
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, charge nurses, clinical nurse educators, nursing managers, providers, and executive leadership
• Understanding of assessment findings as they relate to disease processes and the continuum of care
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency with EHR or Epic documentation
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test for safety-sensitive positions after a conditional offer

Demonstrates expertise in developing and implementing training programs for nursing staff, ensuring competency through evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement. Proficient in patient care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to professional nursing standards.
