Abortion Care:At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.

Union:This role is represented by SEIU, Local 105 and is governed by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.

• At least 1 year of nursing experience with conscious sedation experience, ultrasound experience, and/or experience assisting in abortion procedures.
• You are prepared to jump in to provide abortion care and lend your skills to support PPRM patients at this important time in history.
• You enjoy working on a team and have great communication skills with both patients and colleagues.
• You are a registered nurse with a state license, BLS, and ACLS certified.
• You are also experienced with IV therapy or are IV Certified.

Primary Areas of Responsibility/

Essential Functions:

• Assist physician with abortion procedures.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Assist with emergency care.
• Screen client’s medical history.
• Provide basic information and education to clients on the procedure, aftercare and birth control.
• Document all client encounters completely, clearly, and in a timely manner.
• Initiate IV access.
• Examine, identify, and properly dispose of products of conception.
• Monitor clients receiving IV sedation.
• Monitor clients post operatively.
• Maintain the integrity of emergency equipment.
• Assist with medical assistants and follow up appointments.
• Act as a resource for non-medical staff.
• Administer and account for controlled medications.
• Assist with compliance of OSHA, CLIA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Assist with routine health center upkeep.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by working towards a positive outcome with any problems encountered.
• Additional responsibilities as delegated by the center manager to ensure the functioning of the health center.
• Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)

Schedule: ~37.5 hour/week

• Week 1:
  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 8:15am-6:15pm;
  Sat 8:15am-3:15pm Week 2:
  Tuesday, Thursday - 8:15am - 6:15pm, Wed, Fri 7:45am-5:45pm
• Ideal candidates are able to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evening, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary Range: RN I $38.00 - $39.08/hour new graduates (includes $2/hour travel differential) or RNs with less than 6 months of experience.

RN II: $39.08 - $52.99/hour(includes $2/hour travel differential)

• RNs with at least one year of periprocedural (defined as preparing patients for surgery/procedures, administering medications or monitoring patient during the procedure, and recovering the patient from the procedure), procedural abortion care, or ultrasound nursing experience.

Additional Pay:+$2.25/hour for Spanish fluency (upon passing test)
