LPN/LVN, Pediatric Nurse
ESS Clinical is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support students within Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado. W2 contracts PAY $33/hr
This is an excellent opportunity for an LPN who enjoys working with children and wants to make a meaningful impact by helping students remain healthy, safe, and ready to learn throughout the school day.
As a school-based LPN, you will work collaboratively with the district's nursing and educational teams to provide student health support in accordance with established health plans, district procedures, Colorado nursing regulations, and appropriate RN direction and delegation.
Responsibilities May Include- Provide direct nursing care and health support to students
- Assist students with chronic or complex medical needs according to established healthcare plans
- Administer medications and treatments as permitted and appropriately delegated
- Provide first aid and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns
- Monitor students for changes in health status and communicate concerns appropriately
- Support students with individualized healthcare plans and special healthcare needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health documentation
- Communicate with supervising nurses, school personnel, families, and other members of the student's care team
- Follow infection-control and student safety procedures
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies
- Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment
- Perform additional nursing duties within the LPN's authorized scope of practice and under appropriate RN direction/delegation
- Current and active Colorado LPN license or other authorization permitting LPN practice in Colorado, as applicable
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to successfully complete all district and ESS Clinical background, fingerprinting, onboarding, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of LPN scope of practice and ability to work under appropriate RN supervision/direction and delegation
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, administrators, and nursing professionals
School-based or pediatric nursing experience is preferred, but qualified candidates with transferable nursing experience are encouraged to apply.
