The Field Manager at Columbine Landscapes is a hands‑on leader who oversees the daily operations of landscape maintenance crews. This person ensures properties are maintained to Columbine’s high standards of excellence—keeping them fresh, lively, and beautiful
—while also supporting, training, and motivating their team in the field.

The Field Manager leads by example, working alongside crew members and coordinating logistics, quality control, client expectations, and communication with leadership. They play a key role in ensuring the success and smooth operation of daily fieldwork, crew cohesion, and the company’s outstanding reputation.

SCHEDULE
  • Full‑time required, seasonal position (March–Early December)
  • Average of 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional longer or shorter days depending on weather and job needs
  • Every 3rd Friday off , aligning with 3‑day weekends/holidays
  • Time off is to be planned around 3‑day weekends; exceptions can be made, but since this is seasonal work plan accordingly and take time off during the winter months
DUTIES
  • Be on time every day prepared to work outdoors all day in any condition
  • Ability to correctly identify common perennial flowers and weeds; knowing shrubs, annuals, and trees is desirable
  • Lead and support a landscape crew in maintaining high‑quality residential/commercial properties
  • Manage client meetings for cleanups and ongoing maintenance projects, including estimates and service agreements
  • Serve as the primary field leader, ensuring the quality of all maintenance work meets Columbine standards
  • Conduct regular quality control walkthroughs and provide on‑the‑job training and feedback
  • Attend and lead morning crew send‑offs to provide support, updates, and guidance
  • Mentor and oversee crew leads and crew members through scheduled Employee Development Meetings (EDMs)
  • Train and coach team members on horticultural practices, safety, and productivity
  • Model a strong work ethic and positive team culture by working in the field alongside crew members
  • Maintain a strong field presence: 10–32 hours of billable field time weekly
  • Participate in bi‑weekly leadership meetings and contribute to team and company growth
  • Coordinate with office Admin on scheduling, supplies, communication, and documentation (, Service Autopilot)
FIELD & HORTICULTURAL DUTIES
  • You’ll be expected to know and do all of the following, and guide your team in the same:
    • Identify and differentiate common perennial flowers and weeds; knowing shrubs, annuals, and trees
    • Weed, deadhead, install edging, mulch, plant, rake, and spray (organic deer/insect/herbicides)
    • Install annuals, perennials, shrubs, and small trees correctly and efficiently

REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and work outdoors all day
  • Smartphone with data plan for work‑related communication and reporting
  • Previous experience in landscaping leadership, field operations, or crew leadership (required)
  • This hybrid role requires a computer, reliable internet, and a quiet space at home for periodic administrative work outside of time in the field or client meetings
