Iron Mountain Forestry is hiring Vegetation Management Crew Members to support utility vegetation management and forest preservation projects across Colorado. This is a hands‑on, outdoor role working in rugged terrain and at elevation, supporting experienced supervisors, equipment operators, and arborists.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a professional field crew focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform vegetation management and forestry‑related labor, including cutting, clearing, hauling, and cleanup
- Support arborists, climbers, and equipment operators on active job sites
- Safely operate hand tools and equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, and chippers (training provided as needed)
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site
- Follow all company safety procedures and job hazard analyses
- Work as part of a crew to complete projects on time and to specification
- Perform related duties as assigned based on project needs
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Rugged terrain, uneven ground, and work at elevation
- Physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and prolonged standing
- Early starts and variable hours depending on project and season
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Willingness to work in varied terrain and at elevation
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and physical assessment
- Previous experience in vegetation management, forestry, landscaping, construction, or utility work
- Familiarity with hand tools such as chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws, or similar equipment
- Experience working on crews in outdoor or physically demanding environments
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or experience operating vehicles with trailers (preferred, not required)
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and machinery
- Interest in developing skills and advancing within forestry or vegetation management operations
- Hourly pay: $26 to $30 per hour based on experience
- Paid Time Off (PTO):
- Full‑time employees accrue PTO in addition to paid sick leave
- PTO accrual increases with years of service
- Accrued in accordance with the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act
