Quality Manager - Laboratories

The QA Manager develops and implements the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring compliance with accreditation standard requirements and maintaining and expanding accreditations. This role serves as Quality Manager and is the focal point for QA/QC, functioning independently from technical operations and having quality assurance oversight independent of production and financial responsibility.

$75,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

• Lead the laboratory’s QA/QC and data quality improvement activities.
• Ensure laboratory accreditations are maintained and expanded as needed.
• Schedule, order, evaluate, and report proficiency testing samples; develop effective corrective actions for any failures.
• Ensure SOPs are well written, organized, reflect laboratory practices, and comply with accreditation standards.
• Document personnel training (e.g., demonstrations of capability) and retain associated records.
• Develop and provide QA/QC training for laboratory staff.
• Document, correct, and monitor nonconformances and retain corresponding records.
• Implement and improve the QMS.
• Document validation of new test and measurement services.
• Perform and document internal audits and data assessments.
• Host and lead external audits by accreditation bodies and clients; respond to any observed deficiencies.
• Proactively ensure compliance with the ethics program.
• Manage QA Associates.
• Comply with the Health and Safety Plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, biological, or physical science preferred;
  Associate’s degree in science required.
• Meet the minimum qualifications of the facility’s accrediting bodies for the Quality Manager role, as applicable.
• Four or more years of laboratory testing experience.
• Working knowledge of industry regulations, TNI, 40
  
  CFR, DoD/DOE QSM, ISO/IEC 17025, or other regulated environments.
• Personnel supervisor experience.
