Job Description:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality assurance standards, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions across both in-house and commercial applications. You will work closely with project teams to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies, identify defects, and support continuous improvement in software quality. This role involves end-to-end testing practices, automation initiatives, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure applications meet business, technical, and user requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality assurance standards and testing strategies across application life cycles
- Translate business and functional requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality and performance
- Perform system, regression, integration, and load testing to ensure application reliability
- Identify, document, and track defects, bugs, and system issues
- Analyze test results and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects
- Recommend and implement test automation opportunities and frameworks
- Utilize testing tools to automate integration and UI testing processes
- Support installation and testing of both in‑house and COTS applications across environments
- Provide recommendations for system and application improvements
- Communicate testing progress, results, and risks to stakeholders and leadership
- Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices within development teams
- Support change control processes and release decision‑making
- Provide advanced support and contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation efforts
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and
Competencies:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, automated testing, or related roles
- Strong experience designing and executing test plans, test cases, and testing strategies
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies and tools
- Experience with system, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios
- Strong defect tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA processes
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams
- Experience in Agile or similar development environments
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $60.00/hr rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
