The Quality Technician for Voyager Energetics is responsible for:

  • Inspection and testing – Examining materials, components, or finished products against specifications, using tools like calipers, gauges, or specialized testing equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, and performance standards.
  • Documentation and record-keeping – Recording inspection results, test data, and non-conformance reports accurately, maintaining logs that support traceability and regulatory or customer requirements.
  • Identifying and reporting defects – Flagging products or processes that fail to meet quality standards, tagging or segregating defective items, and communicating issues to supervisors or production teams so corrective action can be taken.
  • Supporting quality control processes – Assisting with calibration of equipment, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), participating in audits, and helping implement corrective/preventive actions to reduce recurring defects.

The position reports to the Quality Manager and is part of the Quality based in Penrose, CO This role is onsite Penrose, CO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with engineering to write and execute Change Controls for Quality processes
  • Work with engineering on any deviation/investigation related to energetics and conduct audits per company QMS
  • Serve as an Internal Auditor
  • Support evaluation of energetics and process equipment through laboratory testing and NDT methods.
  • Support manual and automated production tasks including accurate measurement of chemicals, operation of production machinery, material handling, processing of energetic material, maintaining production records, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.
  • Attend all required meetings and provide clear, professional verbal and email communications.
  • Work safely by accurately and strictly following established standard operating procedures and following safety rules.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • This job requires working with explosives. Teamwork is especially important here in all aspects of the job as we strive for safety.
  • Work with the engineering and operations team to develop and test solid rocket motor and energetic manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct controlled document revisions for Quality processes

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 3 – 7 years of experience in quality assurance within engineering, manufacturing, or construction environments
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified organization

Knowledge & Skills

  • Measurement and inspection proficiency – Skilled use of precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs) and the ability to accurately read blueprints/engineering drawings to verify parts meet dimensional and tolerance specifications.
