QC Technician

Position Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all machined parts and assemblies meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. This role performs inspections, tests, and documentation activities to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. The technician works closely with machinists, customer engineers, and production personnel to maintain high-quality output in a fast-paced machine shop environment.

• Perform first article (FAI), in-process(IPI), and final inspections of machined components. Complete Data packs per customer requirements (PPAP's)
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment. CMM Manager and Calypso preferred.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Work with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct incoming material inspections as required.
• Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable industry standards (e.g., ISO  & AS9100D).
• Maintain calibration records for inspection tools and equipment.

• High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in quality control within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
