Postgraduate Scholar Position
National Jewish Health is seeking a Postgraduate Scholar to join the Barr Lab, which investigates epithelial-immune interactions during lung injury repair. Research in the lab integrates genetically modified mouse models, infection and lung injury studies, primary cell culture, and genomic approaches to better understand mechanisms of lung disease and recovery. Applicants with experience in animal handling, cell culture systems, and molecular biology are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently plan, conduct, analyze, and report complex research projects under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator.
- Utilize advanced research techniques including molecular biology, microscopy, flow cytometry, bioinformatics, and in vivo disease modeling.
- Collaborate with investigators and research staff while contributing technical expertise and guidance on laboratory methods and procedures.
- Support the development and validation of new experimental approaches and maintain high standards of scientific rigor and quality control.

Position Summary The Postgraduate Research Scholar is a temporary, defined period of mentored advanced training. Postgraduate Research Scholars will focus on enhancing their professional skills and research independence under the mentorship of a Principal Investigator. The training program length is a maximum of five years.
