- Lab Maintenance:
Wash glassware, autoclave supplies, prepare common reagents, and stock lab benches. - Sample/Data Management:
Organize, label, and log biological samples; accurately enter experimental data into digital spreadsheets or databases. - Assisting Experiments:
Help prepare materials for assays under direct supervision. Depending on project needs, this may include tasks like pipetting, gel electrophoresis, or basic cell/microbial culture. - Lab Safety:
Comply with all institutional safety and hazardous waste disposal guidelines. - Meetings:
Attend bi-weekly lab meetings and communicate findings or challenges clearly with supervisors.
- Excellent attention to detail and clear communication.
- Current DU undergraduate enrolled for the academic year.
- Completed at least BIOL 2120 Cell Structure and Function; neuroscience and chemistry coursework is a plus.
- Ability to follow detailed scientific protocols carefully and record accurate notes.
- Reliability:
Dependable and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule of 4-8 hours. - Prior
Experience:
Prior lab research experience is preferred; however, a strong willingness to learn is more important. - Working within the Linseman Lab
- Standard office environment.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.

- Students will be paid $19.29-$21.00/hr with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per weeks.
