  • Lab Maintenance:
    Wash glassware, autoclave supplies, prepare common reagents, and stock lab benches.
  • Sample/Data Management:
    Organize, label, and log biological samples; accurately enter experimental data into digital spreadsheets or databases.
  • Assisting Experiments:
    Help prepare materials for assays under direct supervision. Depending on project needs, this may include tasks like pipetting, gel electrophoresis, or basic cell/microbial culture.
  • Lab Safety:
    Comply with all institutional safety and hazardous waste disposal guidelines.
  • Meetings:
    Attend bi-weekly lab meetings and communicate findings or challenges clearly with supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear communication.
Required Qualifications
  • Current DU undergraduate enrolled for the academic year.
  • Completed at least BIOL 2120 Cell Structure and Function; neuroscience and chemistry coursework is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to follow detailed scientific protocols carefully and record accurate notes.
  • Reliability:
    Dependable and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule of 4-8 hours.
  • Prior

    Experience:

    Prior lab research experience is preferred; however, a strong willingness to learn is more important.
  • Working within the Linseman Lab
  • Standard office environment.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Students will be paid $19.29-$21.00/hr with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
  • In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per weeks.
