Pay: $19.29 Hr.
This position greets our customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner. The position works outside in all weather conditions. Excellent customer service skills are a must!
Donation hours at our Stores are Monday through Saturday 8AM to 8:30PM and Sunday 9AM to 7:30PM.
Daily Pay is available through Daily Pay. Part‑time employees in our Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre‑tax or post‑tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan – must be 18 years of age to participate. Goodwill of Colorado is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) eligible employer.
The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers that are dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand‑alone donation centers (ADC). The Donation Services Associates provide excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers, unloading donations from vehicles or other areas, and handling goods with care.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers promptly and answering product questions.
- Assist customers by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
- Handle donated items with care and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas.
- Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make quality decisions to sort appropriately for the sales floor or for shipping to other locations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees in the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
- Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following opening and closing procedures.
- Keep supplies stocked at remote sites as necessary.
- Track and report donation levels daily to prevent trailers from becoming over‑stocked.
- Communicate promptly when donation warehouses or trailers are filling and a truck is needed.
- Follow all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
- Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks when necessary.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Cross‑train in other departments or areas; act as a back‑up for other areas as required.
- May be required to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center when necessary.
- Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: One (1) year of retail experience preferred.
- Other: Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
- Must have basic computer skills to log into a computer system to order supplies and send and receive email.
- Must work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
- Must use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
- Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Must work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
These are representative of the physical demands required for this position:
- Continuously (5–8 hours) moderate lifting (15–44 lbs)
- Frequently (3–4 hours) carrying (15–44 lbs), pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder, bending, and twisting
- Occasionally (1–2 hours) climbing stairs with legs only or ladders with arms & legs
- Never: sitting or standing for longer than 30 minutes
