Summary

This position is responsible for unloading a standard amount of donation carts, and separates items into departments. This position reports to the assistant manager or the store manager.

• Unloads carts to sorting table and separates saleable bric‑brac, shoes, accessories, domestics, jewelry and clothing from trash. Discard trash.
• Puts merchandise in designated areas for further processing.
• Fills in for other positions on the production line as needed.
• Assists with customer/donor services.
• Performs other duties and special assignments as directed, which may be outside the primary area of employment.
• Keeps work area clean.
• Allows 10 minutes before quitting time for sweeping and cleaning up.
• Work area is clean at end of shift; all donations are processed.

• During duties, employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand, and move throughout the store.
• Use upper body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to push or pull clothing racks weighing up to 30 pounds.
• During duties, employee is constantly standing, bending, stooping, and walking.
• During duties, employee may occasionally be exposed to dust from donations.
• During duties, employee must be able to lift the arms shoulder height or above.
• During duties, employee must move arms side to side constantly.
