As the full-time Merchandising Team Leader, you are the Store Team Leader's "go-to" for developing and implementing the Merchandising strategy for the store. Your passion lies in training and coaching your team to deliver the AEO brand visual standards every day, ensuring floorset execution, merchandising and marketing brand standards are consistently met. You maintain guest readiness through effective replenishment and represent our company values by bringing your REAL self to work each day.
Responsibilities- As a key Leader on Duty, you drive sales by maximizing Fitting Room and sales floor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best‑in‑class guest experience. You analyze reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions and support the Store Team Leader in developing short and long‑term business plans to drive key KPIs.
- Coach your team to deliver an outstanding guest experience by ensuring the store is always representative of AEO Brand Standards. You lead day‑to‑day merchandising, sell‑through adjustments, and replenishment, identifying merchandising opportunities and executing action plans.
- Motivate and inspire your team through AEO's core values. Hold them accountable to AEO's customer service standards on the sales floor and in the fitting room.
- Recruit and hire strong talent to keep the store staffed for business needs, and train & develop your team to maintain outstanding service.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback through real‑time coaching, team touch‑bases, development plans, and performance reviews; celebrate team achievements to drive engagement.
- Execute and innovate daily operational procedures, support visual standards throughout every zone in the store, and ensure fitting rooms are always guest ready.
- Maintain store safety standards, adhere to asset protection guidelines, follow AEO policies and procedures, and always do the right thing.
- Deep appreciation for AE and Aerie products.
- Prior retail management experience leading teams.
- Strong multitasking, attention to detail, priority‑setting and time‑management skills.
- Ability to lead and develop teams with a general understanding of employment law.
- Business acumen and the flexibility to work during guest hours.
