Project Controls Analyst / Specialist
We are seeking a Project Controls Analyst / Specialist to support the development, analysis, and execution of cost and schedule controls on strategically important capital projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to provide integrated cost, schedule, and performance reporting across the full project lifecycle. The position plays a critical role in establishing standardized project controls, supporting enterprise systems, and enabling informed decision-making from the project level through executive leadership.
Responsibilities- Develop and analyze project cost reports, schedules, forecasts, and performance metrics for strategic projects
- Support initial and ongoing project setup within work and asset management systems
- Coordinate with Project Managers to assemble budget, forecast, and schedule data for integrated reporting
- Advise on development of financial and schedule Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), accounting structures, and reporting frameworks
- Support resource loading, profiling, and adherence to organizational performance indices
- Integrate scheduling and financial systems to enable accurate cost and schedule tracking
- Establish, implement, and monitor project cost analysis reports and KPIs for stakeholders ranging from project teams to executive leadership
- Develop, maintain, and promote project schedules as a core project management tool, including critical path analysis
- Assess and report work progress against approved baselines
- Prepare and support Cost Analysis Reports, variance analyses, and performance reporting
- Demonstrate subject‑matter expertise in corporate project controls tools and industry‑standard scheduling software
- Serve as a super user for capital cost reporting tools and financial systems
- Partner with finance, accounting, tax, regulatory, and other internal teams to integrate financial impacts of capital projects
- Support compliance with internal controls, including Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements related to capital projects
- Provide training and mentoring to internal and external stakeholders on project controls processes, systems, and reporting
- Support short‑ and long‑term work planning and profiling initiatives
- Proven experience in project controls, including cost analysis, scheduling, and performance reporting
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle execution and capital project controls
- Experience developing and analyzing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Proficiency with project cost reporting, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Experience working with work and asset management systems and financial reporting tools
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial and schedule data clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Experience training and mentoring project teams and controls personnel
- Experience supporting large, complex capital or infrastructure projects
- Advanced knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling
- Experience working in a PMO or enterprise project environment
- Familiarity with SOX controls related to capital projects
- Experience integrating financial and scheduling systems
