• Keep seafood area well stocked and appealing to meet customer requirements.
• Smile and greet customers, make suggestions and provide information on seafood preparation.
• Take orders for future delivery and help fill special requests.
• Help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Set up displays and rotate product as needed.
• Ensure that seafood is fresh, saleable, properly priced, and correctly signed.
• Handle product that is spoiled, damaged, or close to expiration as detailed by company procedures.
• Remove product that is not saleable to ensure quality.
• Weigh and wrap merchandise for customers and apply stickers showing price and weight.
• Maintain necessary logs to track freshness and quality.
• Adhere to all food and personal safety codes when handling product or utilizing kitchen tools.
• Perform general sanitation of the department.
• Follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Help manager control inventory through proper ordering.
• Help minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration.
• Report shortages or overages to manager.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of a power jack or hand jack if properly trained. Training provided.
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained. Training provided.
• Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company-provided personal protected equipment (PPE) including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc.
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

This position currently has no supervisor responsibilities.

• Completed or working toward a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). No prior experience required.
